Keokuk, IA – Keokuk's 3rd-annual Rocktoberfest brought "Rock-Hounds" from across the country to the tri-state region in search of geodes.
Nearly a dozen sites in Southeast Iowa, Northeast Missouri, and West Central Illinois were made available for digs.
Participants paid as much as $25 for a 5-gallon bucket of geodes.
If the rock formations were too large, that cost jumped to $0.75/lb.
