Bushnell, IL – Bushnell is putting a hold on the sale of its first condemned home.
Mayor Steve Russell says the prospective buyer has asked the city to waive attorney's fees and closing costs.
Russell says the city would still have to pay those costs. He says the issue has been sent back to committee for further discussion.
He questions whether the city should set a precedent of absorbing those costs on homes it has condemned.
The buyers have the option of improving the building so it meets standards, or demolishing the property and using the lot.

Bushnell has three other homes on its list for condemnation.
Most are put on the list because of severe structural problems, or possible violations of the Health Code.
