Keokuk, IA – Keokuk's new Rand Park Pavilion could be ready for performances by late spring.
Mayor Dave Gudgel says a community-wide fundraising effort will get underway in the next few weeks.
The goal is around $350,000.
An artist's rendition of the project was unveiled during this week's RAP breakfast.
The actual stage will be covered by a large, wavy roof, which will be held up by about a half dozen massive pillars.
Gudgel says the Rand Park Pavilion will also include seating for more than 1,000 people, period and stage lighting, a sound system, walking paths, and flower gardens.
He says members of the steering committee are already trying to establish a performance schedule for next year.
