Keokuk, IA – Students at Keokuk High School have been challenged to start a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.
Rachel Joy Scott was the first of 13 students and faculty members killed by two students at Columbine High School in Littleton, CO 8 1/2 years ago.
Hannah Nelson of Colorado Springs says Rachel's Challenge was developed from Rachel's diaries and journals and from her compassion and kindness toward others.
Nelson is one of around 30 speakers who travel the world to talk with students about ending prejudice, daring to dream, and choosing positive influences.
The Keokuk High School students who attended Nelson's roughly 45-minute presentation were in elementary school when Columbine took place.
