Macomb, IL – The Macomb Park District is ready to re-open the agreement with the City of Macomb that covers its operating city-owned facilities.
Park Executive Director Ray Peterson says the current agreement expires at the end of next year, but there are several issues that must be worked out.
He says one of the major ones is the status of the Glenwood Park swimming pool.
A citizens committee is preparing to recommend to the city council whether the pool should be replaced.
Other issues include the increasing costs of fuel and labor to cover the city-owned facilities.
They include the swimming pool, Spring Lake, Compton Park and Glenwood Park.

Peterson says the city signed a four-year agreement to have the park district operate its facilities.
The district's negotiating committee includes park board president Lois Nixon and board member Jim Bloom.
