Keokuk, IA – The development of a strategic plan could be in the future for Lee County.
Supervisor Ernie Schiller says some sort of planning should take place so Lee County can address issues that could develop three, five or ten years down the road.
While he believes the planning should take place, Schiller does not know if the best strategy would be to have Lee County employees work on the project or to hire an outside facilitator.
No consensus has been reached by the Board of Supervisors as to how the panel should proceed, though Schiller has already contacted a firm out of Iowa State University to gather more information.
Lee County already has a comprehensive plan.
Schiller says a new plan could look closer at the issue of consolidating county offices, which has not been discussed for some time.
