Keokuk, IA – It will be another week before Keokuk officially has a city administrator.
A special contract-signing, between the city and Odis Jones of Pickerington, Ohio, has been pushed back to Monday, November 12th, his anticipated first day on the job.
Mayor Dave Gudgel says there was not time to hold the ceremony this morning because Jones was meeting with department heads and City Clerk Donna Eilers.
Jones spent the weekend in Keokuk looking for a house for his family.
Gudgel says the delay has nothing to do with the fact that Jones is still under consideration for a similar post in Middletown, Ohio.
The mayor says a mutual contract agreement is in place between the two sides.
Gudgel says it has yet to be determined how much of the contract will be made public once the signing is complete.
The Keokuk City Council offered Jones the post roughly one month ago.
