Variety of Works on Display in New Exhibit

Macomb, IL – A new exhibit in Macomb shows off the works of three local artists. They are Patti Hutinger, Jim O'Toole and Pat Hobbs.

Many of Hutinger's oil paintings have a southwest theme. O'Toole's works spotlight nature and animals, as do the water colors by Hobbs.

The opening night reception for the exhibit also included a display of jewelry by DK Solomon.

Hobbs says she has displayed work with O'Toole and Solomon for a number of years. She thinks it brings in more people when several artists show their work together.

The art will remain on display at Sullivan Taylor Coffeehouse and The Wine Sellers until November 29.

Additional information:

*Hobbs feels many artists in the region are doing top quality work. She suggests collectors buy original works from these artists instead of spending money on mass-produced reproductions.

*Hobbs says she's been painting with water colors since she was five. She's been quilting since she was 15 and a pair of her fiber art pieces are also on display this month. One of them is a Rene Magritte-inspired tribute to her grandfather (see the photo).
