Fort Madison, IA – Lee County is looking into increasing security at several county buildings.
Board of Supervisors Chairman Larry Kruse says options will be discussed and examined following a threatening incident in which law enforcement agents were recently called to the North Lee County office building in Fort Madison.
He says the county wants to improve security at that building and at the North and South Lee County Courthouses and to make sure employees know what to do if another situation comes up.
Sheriff Buck Jones says officers were recently posted at the North Lee County office building and on the first floor of the South Lee County Courthouse, but would not elaborate as to why or for how long.
