Donnellson, IA – One library in Lee County wants to know its options for future growth and expansion.
Director Brenda Knox says circulation at the Donnellson Public Library has reached the point that the facility has the most check-outs in Southeast Iowa, when compared to similar-sized libraries.
As the usage goes up, she says crowded work and reading areas are becoming an issue as well as the lack of space for new computer stations.
Knox says those are some of the reasons why the Donnellson Public Library has hired a consultant.
Knox says the consultant's report will focus on lay-out, collection size, number of visitors, and spacial needs.
It could be completed in roughly two months.
The library received a $3,000 state grant to cover part of the cost.
