Montrose, IA – The Southeast Iowa Regional Economic & Port Authority could have a master plan in place in about a year.
The Authority's Board of Directors has agreed, in principal, to a contract with Nashville, TN-based Hanson Professional Services... pending legal review.
The firm will be paid up to $100,000 to develop a strategic business plan by March of 2009.
Vice President Ron Coles says Hanson has worked on similar plans with more than 100 port authorities from across the country.
He says the firm will look at the needs, capabilities, and goals of the Southeast Iowa Regional Economic & Port Authority.
Representatives of the firm spent several days in Lee County... gathering information and speaking with city, county, business, and economic development leaders.
