Keokuk, IA – The committee formed in response to Keokuk High School's worst in the state graduation rate is broadening the scope of its work.
The Graduation Rate Task Force, which consists of residents, school board members, teachers, and other district employees, has met regularly since it was formed last summer.
Superintendent Jane Babcock says the panel has split into three groups.
She believes the full task force has, at this point, accomplished what it set out to do.
One group will work on long-term strategic planning for the district.
Another will work with the school improvement team to review test scores and other achievement data.
The third will continue to look for the reasons behind Keokuk High School's graduation and drop-out rates.

* Keokuk's graduation rate for the Class of 2006 was 68.6%.
* The figures for the class of 2007 should be released this spring.
