Lee County, IA – The Iowa Department of Education's latest figures show that, in Lee and Des Moines Counties, roughly 87% of the class of 2007 graduated.
More than 750 students received a diploma from one of the seven school districts based in the two counties last year.
The graduation rates for four of those districts were higher than the state average of 90.5%, including the Danville School District's rate of 100%.
The three that did not are also the largest districts in the two counties: Fort Madison - 86.4%, Burlington - 82.6%, and Keokuk - 80.0%.
Even though Keokuk shed its title of worst graduation rate in Iowa, after a roughly 12% increase, its new graduation rate still ranks it in the bottom eight, state-wide.
