Volunteer Group Picks Next Project

Colchester, IL – Colchester Community Connections is beginning the fundraising for its next improvement project. The volunteer group wants new playground equipment for Friendway Park.

The theme for its project is "We need a push, can you help?"

The current playground equipment is outdated and broken down. The group wants to install equipment that will encourage exercise as well play. It also wants to make the playground handicap accessible.

CCC Co-Chair Roger Hodges feels many residents want to try improving the town, but it will take time, effort and money. The estimated cost for the project is $50,000. Fundraisers will be held and the group will also seek grants. It already has $5,000 in seed money.

Hodges talks about the Friendway Park Playground Project in an interview that you can listen to by clicking on the audio button.
