Galesburg, IL – This week is the Fifth Anniversary of the War in Iraq and a Western Illinois Congressman says enough is enough.
Phil Hare says the $12-billion spent on the war each month could have been used to insure ten million additional children for $6-billion, just two weeks of the war. Hare says it is time to put this war behind us. He says nearly 4,000 soldiers have been killed in the war and over 26,000 have been wounded.
Hare says the troop surge did bring the violence down, but that is not what the surge was meant to do and adds it is time for the Iraqi government to get their act together.
Hare says he doesn't see an end until a new administration is in office.
