Burlington, IA – Burlington's new city manager brings a wealth of local experience to the job.
Doug Worden has served as finance commissioner, finance director, deputy city manager, and interim city manager in Burlington over the last 30 years.
He says it feels good to now have the title of city manager in his hometown.
Worden's top priority is finding someone to develop the former Manor neighborhood near the intersection of Highways 61 and 34.
The city council chose Worden after rejecting the finalists from a national search.
He will be paid roughly $100,000/year plus benefits during the two year deal.
