Carthage, IL – After nearly two-years of paperwork, construction, and applying the finishing touches, the Senior Housing Complex in Carthage is finished. Area residents had the opportunity to tour the ten-unit apartment complex, with an in-house laundry room and community room.
Todd Shackelford, Assistant Director of the West Central Illinois Area Agency of Aging hopes people can start moving into the Marion Corner Apartments August 1st. He says the goal is to make living for seniors as easy as possible.
Shackelford says rent is based on income. He adds people that live in the apartments will have a number of different services available to them, such as leisure, educational, and recreational activities, transportation arrangements, and in-home care.
