Macomb, IL – A supportive living facility being built near the Hancock County Nursing Home is still waiting on the final piece of financing.
Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home CEO Ada Bair says that final piece is connected to $1.5 million in tax credits the federal government issued, for the construction of the Hickory Grove Apartments facility. Bair says they are in the process of selecting and securing a buyer for the tax credits.
The total cost of the project is an estimated $3.6 million. Bair says the apartments are scheduled to open after the first of the year.
The 22 unit facility will be a part of the Hancock Village campus, once Memorial Hospital moves to its new location. 19 units will be single bedroom and the other three are double bedroom apartments.
Additional Information:
*The name, Hickory Grove, was chosen because a number of schools in the area had the name Grove in them. Bair says future building projects on the campus will also have Grove in them.
*The apartments are located north of the nursing home.
*The apartments are available for Medicaid patients.
