Macomb, IL – Tri States Public Radio Music Director Jeff Holtz signed off Thursday after more than two decades on the air in Macomb.
Holtz first got involved in broadcasting while attending Augustana College. He worked in radio and at a local television station, but quickly found he preferred radio.
After college, Holtz sold industrial machinery for 20 years before getting back into radio. By that time, the station at Augustana had become a public radio station. Holtz worked there for three years before coming to WIUM in 1987.
Even though Holtz has retired, you will still be able to hear him on the air. Holtz will continue to host "Jazz After Hours" on Saturday nights from 8:00 to 11:00.
A retirement reception will be held for Jeff Holtz on Friday August 1 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. It will take place at the radio station studios in Macomb.
