Keokuk, IA – The number of property fires under investigation in Keokuk continues to grow.
Fire Chief Mark Wessel says the latest three broke out between roughly 10:00 P.M. Tuesday night and 6:00 P.M. Wednesday morning. He says they are being considered "suspicious."
Seven other fires in Keokuk, since last May, were intentionally set. That includes three fires at two churches.
The latest fires were at a storage shed near Fifth and Exchange, an equipment shed at Tenth and Missouri, and an abandoned house at 322 S. 21st.
Wessel says no one was injured during the three fires.
The Keokuk Fire and Police Departments, the Iowa State Fire Marshall's Office, and the ATF are involved in the investigation.
Fort Madison Fire
Meanwhile, in Fort Madison, fire destroyed the Americana Bowling Alley early Wednesday morning. Fire Chief Joey Herren says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Damage was estimated at more than $300,000.
No injuries were reported in the Fort Madison fire.
