Shop Talk - September 22

Macomb, IL – The panelists discuss a Pew Research study that shows few Americans believe news reporting is accurate.

Pew is an independent opinion research group. It studies attitudes toward the press, politics, and public policy. Pew surveyed 1,500 adults nationwide in late June.

Just 29% of Americans believe news organizations generally get the facts straight. 63% say news stories are often inaccurate. In addition, 60% believe news organizations are politically biased.

Although Pew found the public is increasingly critical of news media, most people think it would be an important loss if major news sources shut down.
