Macomb, IL – Alex Degman's guest is Emory Douglas, who was a member of the Black Panther Party in the 1960s.
Douglas was a revolutionary artist who frequently contributed to the Black Panther newspaper. He later served as the party's Minister of Culture.
Douglas says art is the easiest way to convey emotions and opinions, but not everyone can do it. He says you have to be knowledgeable about the subject, otherwise people will see right through you.
Douglas was in Macomb this month to give a lecture at Western Illinois University.
