The Return of the Film Series

Macomb, IL – This fall's International Film Series in Macomb will start with a new twist: no admission will be charged for the first movie.

John Rabe will be shown on Thursday September 2 at the Rialto Cinemas. Show times are 12:45, 3:50, 6:50 and 9:35.

"Last semester turned out very, very well. It's the owners' way of saying 'Thank you,'" Theater Manager Larry Jarvis said of the free movie.

The film series usually continues into December every fall but this year it will end the week before Thanksgiving.

"Film companies consider that (late November and December) their prime Christmas show times and they want as many show times of their regular movies as they possibly can," Jarvis said.

After this week, all movies for the International Film Series will be shown on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Show times will vary from week to week.

Admission will be $6.00 for shows before 6:00. After that the admission is $7.25 for adults, $6.25 for senior citizens, and $6.00 for children age 11 and younger.
