A Louisiana man faces charges for illegally hunting in southeast Iowa.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says 37-year-old Jamie Rogers of Angie, LA purchased land and rented a home in Lee County so he could obtain residential hunting permits.
The agency says Rogers never stayed in the home, but he used the permits to harvest three turkeys and four deer in Lee County.
The charges against Rogers include perjury, falsifying a driver's license, and unlawful take of deer and turkey. He faces $6,000 in fines and another $60,000 in damages.
The Iowa DNR has brought similar charges against two other men from Louisiana for illegally hunting in Van Buren County.
