Union Expected To Vote on Roquette Offer

Keokuk, IA – Members of the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers, Local 48G, are expected to vote on the latest contract offer from Roquette America.

The company locked about 240 union members out of its Keokuk plant on September 28, 2010.

The offer is the result of the latest negotiating session, which was held earlier this week.

That was the first time the two sides have met, face-to-face, in nearly three months.

The union says it will explain the offer to its membership during a special meeting.

It will get underway at 9:00 A.M. at Meyers Courtyard in Keokuk.

Local 48G says the details will not be released before the meeting.
