Field Set For Keokuk City Elections

Keokuk, IA – Incumbent Tom Marion is one of four people to file to serve as Mayor of Keokuk. He is currently in his first term in office.

Marion will be challenged by former mayoral candidate Carol Mardis, Jeff Page and At-Large Alderman Dan Winn.

A 5th candidate (4th ward alderman Mark Hoyt) failed to meet the deadline to file a nominating petition.

Winn's at-large seat will also be on the ballot, so his running for mayor opens up that contest.

Four people filed to replace him as at-large alderman.

The field includes former alderman Mike Girard and former city council candidates Theresia Harmon, John Helenthal and Lonnie McCarty.

The final contested race is in the 6th Ward.

Incumbent Karole Smith is being challenged by former alderman Roger Bryant and Kevin Helmick.

Incumbents Mike Moore and Sandy Pollitt are the lone candidates in the 2nd and 5th Ward.

Newcomer Larry Mortimer is the only person to file in the 4th Ward.

The election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8.
