Burlington, IA – Des Moines County voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, November 8.
Six candidates filed for three open seats on the West Burlington City Council.
The list includes three incumbents: Rod Crowner, Therese Lees and Rick Raleigh, and three challengers: Gary Deen, Douglas Ervine and Molly Sanders.
The three winners will receive four-year terms on the panel.
Meanwhile, in Danville, Mayor Leroy Lippert is being challenged by Trent Henkelvig.
There is also a competition for three seats on the city council with incumbents Shaun Langan, Fidelis Steinhoff and Duane Worthy and challenger Jerry Strause.
Danville residents are also being asked to establish a library tax levy.
The only other contested race will be for two seats on the Burlington City Council.
The four names on the ballot will be determined during the October 11th primary election.

Shall Danville be allowed to establish a library tax levy, not to exceed the state-allowed maximum amount? The money raised will be used to pay for library services to Danville residents. The tax shall be effective with 2012-2013 fiscal year taxes and continue until repealed.
