Fort Madison, IA – Brian Wright joined the Fort Madison City Council several months ago.
He was one of two candidates to apply for the then-vacant 2nd Ward seat.
Wright says he has a passion for the city and an eagerness to serve.
He says he will do everything he can to make Fort Madison a great place to raise a family.
Wright says one of the biggest challenges facing the city is community outreach. He says city leaders must keep residents informed and involved.
Wright says a top priority must be Fort Madison's response to the new Highway 61 Bypass.
He says annexation opportunities for the city will be explored, though he says it could be several years from now.
Wright says he is impressed with the work of Fort Madison Partners and Main Street Fort Madison to keep the downtown active and growing.
He says, come budget time, his top priorities would be public safety and street repairs.
