Burlington, IA – Chuck Griffin says his past experience in city government is needed on the Burlington City Council.

He served on the panel during the late 1970's, early 1980's and mid 1990's.

Griffin says he wants to be a voice for all of Burlington, not just the chosen few.

He says he wants to open up city government to make sure everyone in Burlington knows what is going on and why decisions are being made.

Griffin says the city council must require accountability from the top down throughout city government.

He says the new city manager must be a "people" person and be someone who is willing to hold others accountable.

Griffin says experience in budget preparation and union negotiations is very important.

He says, if elected, he would push for the renewal of a sales tax, next year, that provides millions of dollars for the city.

Griffin says the city needs to focus on the streets and sewer as infrastructure is crucial to future growth.
