Constitution Day
Constitution Day
Also on Sept. 17, the college will host its annual Constitution Day talk. Attorney, director and dramaturg Ashton Botts will blend her work in law and theatre to discuss "Living with a Living Constitution: How the Court's Interpretation Shapes our Rights." Free and open to the public, the talk will be given at 7 p.m. in Room 276 of the Center for Science and Business.
The program celebrates Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, a federal day that commemorates the signing of the final draft of the Constitution in 1787 in Philadelphia. The nation's first Constitution Day was observed in 1952 to recognize the adoption of the Constitution and persons who have become U.S. citizens.
