Celebrate the harvest season with us at the Western Illinois Museum (WiM) during Downtown Macomb's Moon Over Macomb festivities! On Saturday, October 17th, from 10:00 am to noon, drop in to learn how to make corn husk dolls, view artifacts from WiM's collection, and taste historic culinary traditions. 

Throughout the event, guests can explore harvest traditions at interactive stations illustrating food preparation and preservation for the winter months. Victorian ladies Mrs. Bath and Mrs. Chu will demonstrate time-honored techniques for making homemade apple butter. At the same time, volunteer Dona Lantz will host a peach jam station with canning tips and samples. Guests can learn about harvesting grains, including corn shelling and an 1873 reaper once used to harvest wheat for bread, and taste fresh-baked bread generously donated by our local bread-baking expert, Aly Sturgis, owner of Sullivan Taylor Coffee House. Come taste seasonal treats and experience harvest traditions that bring history to life! 

This family-friendly event is free and open to the public, making it the perfect way to embrace the fall spirit with friends and family.
