Join the Fort Madison Historic Preservation Commission and travel back in time as you explore the history of downtown Fort Madison through historic photographs, fascinating stories, and the architecture that has shaped our community for generations. This guided walking tour will take you along Avenue G, Avenue H, and 7th Street, highlighting the people, businesses, and buildings that made downtown the heart of Fort Madison.  
 

The tour will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 6:00 pm with the starting location at the Moose Lodge, 624 Avenue G. Tickets for the tour are $15.00 per person and include a booklet of the buildings highlighted on the tour. Our host site, the Moose Lodge, is hosting its annual Shrimp Boil on August 1^st. Dinner starts at 5:00 pm, and tickets are $25.00 each.  If you would like to join in on the Moose Lodge’s Shrimp Boil, tickets can be purchased from Greg Smith at 319-470-4071.
