Illinois Voices 250
Illinois Voices 250
On Saturday, June 20th, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, the Western Illinois Museum will host Illinois Voices 250, a statewide storytelling initiative documenting the voices and experiences of people across all 102 Illinois counties in honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Created by Illinois Humanities, in partnership with the Illinois America 250 Commission and StoryCorps Studios, the upcoming Community Recording day will enable participants to record one-on-one conversations reflecting on their experiences and perspectives, preserving the voices of everyday Illinoisans: who we are, what we care about, and what we think is important about this moment in our country’s history. There is no cost to participate.
Can’t attend in person? A do‑it‑yourself recording option is also available online at ILHumanites.org/ILVoices250.
