The tournament is expected to bring 200-300 players, coaches, volunteers, and their families to
Macomb. Members of the surrounding community are also invited and welcome to enjoy the
tournament festivities. Food vendors and concessions will be available during the tournament.
The tournament has no admission or gate fees.
The Macomb Soccer Club is a youth soccer organization serving Macomb and surrounding
communities. The club was revitalized this spring to provide youth ages 12 to 14 the
opportunity to play competitive soccer. Canaan Albright, president of the Macomb Soccer Club
Board says, “We have been pleased with the interest in competitive soccer from the
community. To have more than 25 players join in our first season was a great surprise and
shows how much this opportunity was needed.”
Albright also says that interest in the program has extended to local businesses. “We have had
wonderful sponsors step up and help lower the cost of participation for our players, including
covering the cost of uniforms and equipment.”
The Macomb Soccer Club plans to expand to include teams for youth ages 9 to 11 this fall, as a
complement to the middle school-aged team. More information about player registration,
sponsorship opportunities, and upcoming programs is available at macombsoccer.com.
