Reading of 'This Raindrop' During OBOC

Reading of 'This Raindrop' During OBOC

The Shared Community Action Group is inviting residents to celebrate cross-community
collaborations through the 2024 One Book One Community Festival (OBOC). The books chosen
revolve around the theme “water,” its beauty, its power, and its critical role for life on earth.

To ensure that children of every age as well as teens and adults can participate, the OBOC will
feature three books to highlight the festival theme: This Raindrop Has a Billion Stories to Tell by
Linda Ragsdale, A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park, and What the Eyes Don’t See: A Story
of Crisis, Resistance, and Hope in an American City (Flint, Michigan) by Mona Hanna-Attisha.

This Raindrop is a striking picture book showing “how water has been flowing and falling all
around us, fueling and forming much of what we have seen and used for millions of years.”

Children will hear librarian, Tiffany Erickson, read This Raindrop and then create their own
raindrop sun-catcher during Story Time at the Macomb Public Library. A book giveaway will
be part of this program.
