Thanks to the hard work of our planning team, we are able to offer these two additional programs on Saturday, August 29th, to complement the exhibition currently on display at the Burlington Public Library, Americans and the Holocaust.
First, at 10 a.m., we welcome Chris Green, Chair of the Holocaust Committee of the Quad Cities, and her lecture “Auschwitz Liberation 80th Commemoration.”
 "On January 27, 2025, the 80th anniversary commemoration of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau was held in Poland. As a member of the delegation from the C.A.N.D.L.E.S. (Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiments Survivors) Holocaust Museum and Education Center from Terre Haute, Indiana, I was privileged to have a pass for the Outside Public Sector of the Commemoration." - Chris Green
Then, at 1 p.m., we are proud to host Yvonne Aronson, a child survivor of the Holocaust. Born in Brussels, Belgium, she was in hiding for 2.5 years with a non-Jewish family, as her father and her aunt perished in Auschwitz. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1947 and lives to tell her survivor story.
