The Goldenrods to perform on Our Front Porch
The Western Illinois Museum is pleased to announce the return of the popular music trio, The Goldenrods, for a live performance on Friday, August 8th, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. Part of the Museum’s Our Front Porch music series, the event offers an intimate, now air-conditioned, setting where audiences can connect closely with performers. Doors and bar open at 5:00 PM, and a $5 suggested donation will be collected at the door to support the Museum’s musical programs.
Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, The Goldenrods bring a fresh take on traditional country music through their distinctive style they call “Country and Midwestern.” The band draws on contemporary Midwestern life for inspiration, performing heartfelt originals and regional favorites. Their repertoire includes two-steps, waltzes, and polkas—songs both joyful and wistful, playful and profound—often delivered in rich vocal harmony.
The trio includes Ryan Koenig on octave mandolin, fiddle, plectrum banjo, and guitar; Jess Adkins on vocals, accordion, and guitar; and Kellie Everett on upright bass. Known for their warm energy and storytelling, The Goldenrods create a memorable evening of live music rooted in tradition and connection. Learn more about the band at www.thegoldenrods.com.
Guests are encouraged to come early to explore the Museum’s exhibits, enjoy a drink, and settle in for an evening of outstanding local music in a welcoming, casual atmosphere.
This program is supported in part by grants from the Illinois Arts Council and the Illinois Humanities Council.
