Patricia Walton - Circuit Court Judge

Macomb, IL – Patricia Walton is one of two Republicans running for the seat being vacated by Ninth Judicial Circuit Judge William Henderson.

Walton was with a general practice law office when she was appointed an associate judge more than 15 years ago. The appointment was made by the Ninth District's circuit judges. They have reappointed her several times since. Walton says that's proof she's doing a good job as a judge.

Walton says there will be no learning curve for her because she already sits on the bench. She also says there is a need for more women judges in the Ninth Circuit.

You can hear what Walton has to say about her qualifications by clicking on the audio button for a full interview with her.

If elected, Walton would serve as resident judge for McDonough County. So even though the Ninth Circuit includes six counties, only McDonough County residents will cast votes in this particular election.

No one from the Democratic or Green parties is running for the position. The McDonough County Clerk's office says the state does not allow parties to slate candidates for judicial positions. That means the winner of the GOP primary to replace Henderson will serve as the next resident judge in McDonough County.
