A Galesburg woman is accused of killing her seven-year old daughter. Police said Hazel Ivy, 29, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.
Police said they were called to the 1500 block of McKnight Street on Sunday on a report of a problem with a child. They said they found the girl dead from apparent knife wounds.
The city said the Galesburg Police Department, the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, the Knox County State’s Attorney’s office, and the Illinois State Police conducted the investigation.
In a separate case, Galesburg police said an arrest has been made in a shooting from January 1, 2021.
Kyle Redick, 27, faces four counts of Attempted Murder and other charges. He was arrested over the weekend by the U.S. Marshall's Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Redick is accused in a case in which four people in a vehicle were shot.
