Kavion Poplous, 18, remains in jail on $1 million bond.  He is charged with two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, one count of Aggravated Battery, and one count of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.

He has pleaded not guilty. He has asked for a jury trial.

Poplous is accused of shooting Amarion Hargrove several times in Thompson Hall on September 15, 2020 in what investigators have called a roommate dispute.

Poplous turned himself in to police in Chicago the day after the shooting.
