Requiring Tech Giants to Pay for News Content

The BBC reports that Australia is introducing a law to make Google, Facebook, and potentially other tech companies pay media outlets for their news content. The BBC said this would make Australia the first nation to impose such a law.

The BBC also reported Google responded to the plan by threatening to remove its search engine from Australia.

The Shop Talk panelists share their thoughts about Australia’s proposal and Google’s response.
