  • Ben de la Cruz is an award-winning documentary video producer and multimedia journalist. He is currently a senior visuals editor. In addition to overseeing the multimedia coverage of NPR's global health and development, his responsibilities include working on news products for emerging platforms including Amazon's and Google's smart screens. He is also part of a team developing a new way of thinking about how NPR can collaborate and engage with our audience as well as photographers, filmmakers, illustrators, animators, and graphic designers to build new visual storytelling avenues on NPR's website, social media platforms, and through live events.

  • Erin Eveland is the Executive Director and founder of The Hub – Arts & Cultural Center in Rushville, Illinois. The Hub serves as both a Local Arts Agency and the anchor organization for Illinois Humanities’ Western Hub. Eveland earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Education from Western Illinois University, where she also received a special certificate in Instructional Design and Technology – Distance Learning. She additionally holds a Certificate of Achievement in Nonprofit Leadership.
  • Carol runs her design business – Green Shingle – out of her home. It has been her side gig for more than 30 years but now it’s full time. She recently retired from WIU as a graphic designer at University Printing and Mail. She received her BA in fine art at Western and much later, went back to school and got her Masters.
  • Tom Carper is a Macomb resident and WIU graduate. He served in the US Army in Thailand and Vietnam. Tom rand a small business in Macomb before becoming mayor in 1991. He served as Macomb's mayor until 2003. Tom has sat on the Amtrak board have directors and served as board chair. He currently lives in Macomb with his wife, Gayle.
  • Bobby Broom is an associate professor of jazz guitar and jazz studies at Northern Illinois University. Broom began studying guitar at the age of 12, and by the age of 16 he was known in New York City as a jazz prodigy.
