Texas Voter ID Law Blocked By Justice Department
The Justice Department says the state failed to show that the law would not deny or limit minorities' right to vote. It's the second state voter ID law the department has blocked.

Two years after the Missouri Supreme Court struck down a similar measure, the state's Republican-led lawmakers passed a bill that would require residents to have photo identification to cast a ballot.

The court called the leak "one of the worst breaches of trust in its history." The Marshal of the Supreme Court "has to date been unable to identify a person responsible," the court said Thursday.

Activists Make Push To Get IDs To Pa. Voters
Earlier this summer, Pennsylvania's Commonwealth Court upheld the state's polarizing voter identification law. With Election Day nearing, the state's Supreme Court is considering a challenge to that decision. But voting rights activists are taking no chances, and are now trying to put a million photo ID cards in the hands of residents.
