Ben Bradford is a city kid, who came to Charlotte from San Francisco by way of New York, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles. Prior to his career in journalism, Ben spent time as an actor, stuntman, viral marketer, and press secretary for a Member of Congress. He graduated from UCLA in 2005 with a degree in theater and from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in 2012. As a reporter, his work has been featured on NPR, WNYC, the BBC, and Public Radio International.

Carol runs her design business – Green Shingle – out of her home. It has been her side gig for more than 30 years but now it’s full time. She recently retired from WIU as a graphic designer at University Printing and Mail. She received her BA in fine art at Western and much later, went back to school and got her Masters.

Erin Eveland is the Executive Director and founder of The Hub – Arts & Cultural Center in Rushville, Illinois. The Hub serves as both a Local Arts Agency and the anchor organization for Illinois Humanities’ Western Hub. Eveland earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Education from Western Illinois University, where she also received a special certificate in Instructional Design and Technology – Distance Learning. She additionally holds a Certificate of Achievement in Nonprofit Leadership.

Bobby Broom is an associate professor of jazz guitar and jazz studies at Northern Illinois University. Broom began studying guitar at the age of 12, and by the age of 16 he was known in New York City as a jazz prodigy.
