The winners of the 2023 Pulitzer Prizes were announced last month.
As Poynter noted, the Pulitzers are regarded as the highest honor that a U.S.-based journalist or organization can receive.
The list of finalists demonstrates the outstanding reporting still being done by a variety of news outlets in categories such as investigative reporting and breaking news reporting.
There are also categories for local, national, and international news reporting, and in recent years there’s been a category for audio reporting.
