Harvest Public Media

Harvest Public Media

Harvest Public Media is a collaboration of public media newsrooms throughout the Midwest and Great Plains, which reports on food systems, environment and rural life. Founded and based at KCUR, Harvest Public Media serves stations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and Oklahoma. Our full partner stations provide the bulk of our support. We strive to bring a human focus to farming and rural communities, while putting local issues into context within our region, our nation and the globe.

Most Harvest Public Media stories begin with radio- regular reports are aired on member stations in the Midwest. But Harvest also explores issues through online analyses, television documentaries and features, podcasts, photography, video, blogs and social networking.  They are committed to the highest journalistic standards. Harvest Public Media was launched in 2010 with the support of a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.  Today, the collaboration is supported by CPB, the partner stations, and contributions from underwriters and individuals.
