Controversies Result in Departures from NY Times
As reported by CNN and other news outlets, two prominent staffers of The New York Times are leaving the paper. Both were involved in high-profile controversies.
Andy Mills produced a 12-part podcast called “Caliphate,” which is about the Islamic State. It turns out a central character in the series was fabricated.
The other prominent staff member to depart is science and health reporter Donald McNeil, Jr. The Daily Beast recently reported that participants in a 2019 school trip to Peru accused McNeil of making "racist and sexist remarks throughout the trip."
