More misinformation about January 6

PolitiFact, which is part of the Poynter Institute, is critical of a new documentary film series on Fox News about the January 6 insurrection.  Poynter's headline pretty much sums it up: Tucker Carlson's film falsely claims January 6 is 'pretext to strip millions' of 'constitutional rights.'

The sub-headline adds: The Fox News host claimed that the attack on the Capitol is being used as a front to justify a 'purge' of Trump voters and a new war on terror.

The article goes on to say Carlson tries to rewrite what happened at the Capitol on January 6, advances conspiracy theories, and conducts sympathetic interviews with conservatives involved with what happened that day.

Carlson defended the series as “rock-solid factually.” But PolitiFact gives it a rating of Pants on Fire, which means it’s a rock-solid pack of lies.
