The Keokuk School Board has a new look following the Sept. 8 election as voters chose four new members to represent them. In the process, they removed a pair of incumbents and decided not to return a former board president to office.

It's safe to say Keokuk residents have options when it comes to Tuesday's school board election, with nine candidates seeking four seats. One of them said he is willing to listen and work as a team to do what's best for the students in the school district.

There are nine people trying to fill the four open seats on the Keokuk School Board. Janne Long said if she's elected on Tues., Sept. 8, she will make sure to listen to every resident of Keokuk and bring their ideas or concerns to the entire board.

Keokuk residents have plenty of options from which to choose when it comes to the Sept. 8 school board election -- 9 candidates are running for the four open seats. Tim Glasscock said he brings a skilled trades background to the race, which he feels is needed given the growing trend of high school graduates going right into the workforce.

Sandy Stark has seen a lot during her 30-year run on the Keokuk School Board. She openly admits she considered calling it a career when her current term expires in a couple weeks, until she thought about what she calls the "great work" being done throughout the district.

The field in the race for four open seats on the Keokuk School Board is larger than normal with nine men and women looking to serve. Russ Derr said he entered the race because he brings an unmatched level of experience and knowledge to the race.

Nine names will appear on the Sept. 8 ballot in the race for four open seats on the Keokuk School Board. One of them, Tyler McGhghy, said he brings the right mix of experience and enthusiasm to the board.
