Graham Health System's latest Galesburg clinic is now open. The south side clinic is at 435 E. Third St.

The new clinic is at 435. E. Third St. is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, offering both family medicine and walk-in services.

A new clinic is bridging inequities in healthcare on Galesburg's south side.

Graham Health System’s latest clinic to open in town is not new construction, and it’s not in a lavish space.

But it is eight blocks south of Main Street.

Graham CEO Bob Senneff said that’s important.

“I think I'm probably more proud of this building,” Senneff said. “Even though it's not a fancy bricks and mortar and it's not a $10 million building like we're building on the north side of town. But this is really filling a gap that's been a void forever, probably.”

This is Graham’s fourth clinic to open in Galesburg since the closure of Cottage Hospital in 2022, including a 14,000-square-foot specialty clinic that was constructed on North Seminary Street and opened earlier this year.

The new clinic is at 435. E. Third St., where the Galesburg Rescue Mission used to have a thrift store. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, offering both family medicine and walk-in services.

At a Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting for the new clinic, Senneff praised city and county officials for supporting Graham’s growth in the community. He said Graham has worked alongside OSF HealthCare to fill the void left by Cottage’s depature.

“There's really an infinite need for healthcare in this community and in this part of the state, and finite resources,” Senneff said. “We're trying to fill some of those resources”

Senneff said the south side clinic was possible because of the Benedict family. Benedict Resources LLC purchased the former Rescue Mission property last year, then sold the former thrift store portion to Graham.

“We got this building at about 33% of what it would be if they put it on the market. So really a significant donation for us to come here,” Senneff said.

Graham Health System is a non-profit healthcare provider based in Canton.
